Regulus arrived at the gate and waited for his cousin. Maybe not in all black, but still looking good.
His skin was a tiny bit pink still, but that was okay as the spell effect had mostly dissipated. It put it in perspective being turned into a walking strawberry for sure! And being the school was about to begin (he thought shifting the leaf a bit in his mouth) he had to make the rounds of his family according to his Mother. Family. Regulus looked through the gate before remembering he had the key inside him to step in. Headdesk. Hopefully no one had been watching or thought he was just taken aback looking across the property.
Being a DE he just stepped straight through the metal gate to the inside.
Gah, such a mistake! Walking quicker then he should, he passed through the gardens in time to hear a blood-curdling scream just beside him from a bush and nearly jumped three feet into the air, coming down wand out! A white Peac0ck was staring at him, tilting it's head on one side. It screamed again. He winced. "I will remember you. That--" He didn't say what he wanted to call them as he was sure Malfoy would know pretty quickly somehow that his precious birds had been badly named.
Sticking his tongue out at the d@mn bird and turned going down the path again to the house. At the main door he stopped and knocked on the knocker by waving his hand at the knocker. He left his wand in his sheath on purpose and straightened his coat out. When the door opened, he did a short head bow though he knew the other was well aware of him. Fortunately Regulus was becoming very good at oblivating his own memories to remove incriminating evidence so there was not a bit of doubt in his face or manner with this important Deatheater and now relative. "Greetings and good day to you, my Mother said she had told you I was coming to visit?"

Lucius' morning had been fairly quiet and he had spent the better part of the day in the library. The dusty tomes were spread out on the table in front of him as he scoured them for any tidbit of information. The Dark Lord requested that his current work in the Unspeakables be brought to him, but most of it was hidden away. He was searching for a spell or enchantment that could allow him to bypass the wards. It was possible for him to draw them out, but he couldn't keep them or take them home without the head of the department knowing that they hadn't been returned. He also considered using duplication charms, but the wards were just as strong, if not stronger, about duplication. As an Unspeakable himself, it made him uncomfortable to do but it was necessary. The wants of the Dark Lord were more important than his discomfort. He hadn't been given a deadline but it was obvious that his Lord expected something sooner rather than later.
The words were beginning to blur in his unfocused vision and he frowned, placing a bookmark in the one directly in front of him. He closed it with care, moving it to the side to pack up his notes. He could have lunch in the library, but if he were to drop some food onto the books, it could have devastating impacts. He was a very careful eater but there was no room for mistakes, so he rose to his feet. The books would be there when he came back unless one of them grew legs and ran away. He tucked in the chair, turning towards the door to head to the dining hall. Just as he was about to call out, a house elf appeared before him, tugging its ears. He frowned in confusion, "Yes?" He demanded, knowing that the elf couldn't have known he was about to call it.
"Noopy is very sorry, Master Lucius. Master Regulus is at the gate, sir."
Lucius scowled before recollected himself. He supposed it meant that it was time to come out of his self-imposed isolation. He vaguely remembered that Narcissa had mentioned that the boy was coming over. He just hadn't realised that it was so soon. With a longing glance at the books, he opened the library door and stepped out into the hallway. "Has he not realised that he can enter through the gates? No matter, I want you to fetch Narcissa and get her to organise lunch- if she hasn't already done so." It would explain why she hadn't already coaxed him out of his writing corner. He strode down the stairs to the door, expecting to have to traverse to the gates, whereupon he opened the door to find the young face of his wife's cousin. "Good day Regulus." His words were clipped and cool as he stepped aside to let the teenager in.
"It had slipped my mind that you would be here today, so please forgive my dishevelled appearance." Lucius certainly wasn't bedraggled, but he wasn't up to his usual standard of tidiness. "My father won't be here for lunch. I believe he is running an errand for his Lordship. Please do come in."

Never quite sure how to title his cousin's husband, Regulus had to hedge about sometimes. Malfoy was not exactly friendly except when compared to his parents who were downright focused on their own concerns. With such an example, Malfoy Manor became rather homey as stone buildings could be. "Thank you very much," he said before stepping inside when invited.
An eye at the man's appearance did not hold up to the facts presented. Regulus had always thought of Malfoy as a snappy dresser, almost painfully so. It left him wondering if he was accepted enough to see beyond the 'front' appearance. He smiled anyway just to be on the safe side. "Easily. You still appear to be better dressed then most people I meet in formal situations, sir." The sir might seem too formal, but it felt safe with this man.
Stepping away from the door he looked around the open and impressive foyer not with avarice but more recognition. The house required a certain formal attention, not just the heir himself. "I hope my arrival has not caused you any inconvenience? If so feel free to return to whatever you were in the middle of. I will try not to be any trouble for you..." His eyes came back to Lucius, aware that being much younger he was seen as less as well. He meant no offense naturally to hospitality, but this was about family and thus...more permissible then most.

If Lucius were to hear any comment about how the teenager found Malfoy Manor to be comfortable, it was possible that he'd instal spikes from the ceiling and on the chairs- that was if it didn't ruin the aesthetics. Malfoy Manor stood to be formidable and imposing to guests, and a comfort to the family. Luckily he was not privy to Regulus' thoughts and was therefore not offended or ruffled like one of his albino peacocks. His lips pressed into a thin line as the younger boy stated that Lucius was better-dressed then many people that he met and he scoffed. "How kind of you. This draws me to believe that you aren't spending time around the right sort of people, but that's something your mother or Narcissa can deal with." The Malfoy's prided themselves on their appearance, so it was no surprise that he was always dressed to the nines. His tone wasn't scathing but his words weren't kind. Regulus was the Black Heir, and therefore in Lucius' mind, he was supposed to present himself in the same way.
He nodded as Regulus suggested that he could come back later, "No, I have paused my activities. I was planning to have a bite to eat before I went back to my studies." He waved off the offer, offer a very brief polite smile, "Care to join me in the drawing room? Narcissa should be down any minute." It was his duty to host the guest, even if he wasn't welcomed which Regulus was. The Black Heir's presence made his wife happy and he was not one to deny her family. Sure, he was of the belief that Bellatrix and Andromeda were quite batty, but Regulus' mother had been quite sane so far. "You have come at just the right time, I assure you." he entered the drawing room and gestured to the comfy seats around a coffee table. "Can I offer you some refreshments? Tea, coffee, juice?"

A remark back and Regulus wanted to narrow his eyes but did not on purpose. "Hardly something I can control at this time, sir, as I am both in school and under the wand during the summer. The only people I see during the week would be my mother's guests as my parents believe in me achieving quite a few goals during the summer months." No free time is what that really translated to, but he wasn't going to say that to a fellow member of the DE, higher or lower either way.
Nearly a smile as he added "I would be quite happy to carry your comments back to my Mother, but please feel free to give her your opinion the next time you see her, sir. I am sure she will provide a more then adequate explanation." He doubted anyone in the families wanted to mess with her thorny tongue and aggressive remarks, certainly not her son! And seeing as she had already driven one son away he wasn't going to broach the subject with anyone much less family. He knew from personal experience her hexes were sharp and painful and if she did it to him, she was hardly going to hold back with anyone else who suggested she was wrong about something.
A slight head bow. "I accept and with thanks" though Regulus was not a regular eat-all-you-can teenager, he did share the growth spurts of one so needed a healthy intake. He might have eaten earlier, but he would always add some to it whether small or large. Knowing his cousin would probably stuff him anyway, eh followed the man into the next room. He felt relief at hearing his timing had been good and looked around as he entered. "Some tea would be lovely, thank you very much. I do enjoy juice, but by the end of next week I suspect I will have more then enough and mostly that for months on end."
Hogwarts provided tons of that, but was not heavy on the tea and coffee both being seen as not great for a growing teenager's height. Whether that was true or not was beyond him; the adults believed it and acted accordingly. Regulus, while not a coffee drinker, loved a spot of tea. "One of Mother's guests" you ould always hear the capital on her name off Regulus' tongue "likes to say his coffee should always be 'black as midnight and sweet as sin.' I've always wondered if that was a family saying with him."
