In the afternoon, Regulus stopped his homework and quickly penned a short letter.
A glance carefully over it showed the name of the book and author's last name. He couldn't be more plain without ruining the idea of double messages. Signing it he set is aside in an envelope and sealed it, though he could not use his family's seal yet only his father could. Shame that. The girl was a target too on his list with her family line pure but minor house. The herbal stuff was just a cover however and he hoped she understood that part at least since he had never once mentioned that sort of stuff to her before. Turning back to his homework, he took out a note sheet and quilled a list of things he needed for the lotion he was making. It was unusual and he would need to test it at some point, but he thought she would be pleased with the result. Too bad there was no salve which would help her heal back entirely, but if he could make her life easier he would. A moment to think about having her out on a real beach at night somewhere far away brought a smile to his eyes. Then he lifted the wand and obliviated the letter thinking from his mind along with the beach; these were too dangerous to keep around though his notes for an emergency had been written with them in mind. Those he would not look at till things really went critical. He had a careful path to follow and keeping someone from finding evidence of his plan would be a terrible thing. After a minute he saw the letter while working on his homework and seeing it's address, he picked it up and went to send off the family owl... Rose Romola Lupin

[googlefont=Dancing Script] Soon comes the cold, and the night that never ends.
She had just woken from a nap and had dived into a book, one of which she was slowly finding her eyes getting heavy at once again.
She had slept so much, why was she still so tired? Was it the fire? Was she too comfortable? Blast. At this rate, she would grow soft. That wouldn't do at all.
And it was as if he was hearing her thoughts, an owl arrived through the window, the detection spells making a fuzzy warmth spread through her. She skipped over to the owl, feeding him a bit of toast she'd left, with some jam. It would wait for the response, which was good.
She summoned over a quill and parchment as she tore open the letter. The missive was short and for a whole minute confused her before his message on the wall came flooding back to her.
On a spare bit, she wrote the letter down. Ah, a book. And a girl. Easy enough. She penned the response.
It is done.
She would figure out how to use the code to her advantage... but she was just so tired. She tried to think if there were any shrunken objects she was still harbouring that would be draining her like this, but she couldn't seem to think of anything.
She yawned largely. Perhaps some excercise. She did have to get that book.
A wave of her wand had her dressed, and a tap to her head had her black tresses going bleach blonde.
She made her way into Hogsmeade easily. Passing the Three Broom Sticks, a figure sat at a table near the window, seemingly just people watching. But she could tell what he was doing. Luckily she had her glamour. She gave the figure of her brother a glare before walking past him, and towards the book store.
Damn Moony. Resorted to actually searching for her himself now, was it?

The reply returned swifter then he would have thought actually. Kretcher cracked in the corner and his head came up with a raised eyebrow. "Master Regulus, owl for you." He held out his hand with a smile. "Thank you, Kretcher, how are you doing today? What have my parents got you doing?" The elf bobbed his head as was often his habit. "Master Orion has me cleaning the front room for guests he is expecting in an hour. Business meeting. Mistress has me baking new cakes for later when her friends arrive to game."
Ouch. Mother's friends often wanted to see how the boy was doing. He looked over his books adding "Uh, thanks for the warning. You give me excellent service, Kretcher," to the clear delight of the elf "but sounds like I should take a break now so as to have something for them to admire later." He got up and headed to his room leaving his thinks out on the table...

A couple of days later, Regulus penned a short note which he knew she would be able to follow. It only said "Problems? Complications? Success?" The book was not an easy normal book to find so she might have had some problems and it would possibly have to ordered, but at least his name would not be attached to it. And he'd give her money for it when he was next there naturally. Now, he needed to go get that potion fixed up so he could make the lotion. Infusion, he thought getting up, was a very effective technique.
The herbs had arrived yesterday when he checked the apothecary and Mother had the other things he needed (he had told her it was for a homework practice) so the place and things were here. Talking to her had brought it to his mind that he needed to get going on it so it had the time to settle after. And then he needed to speak with his father about having a guest over for a brief overnight to test out something for his Master's investigator. He went to the downstairs to get things going on the potions end...

She penned a reply back: Success. Took a bit of digging. But I found it.
She grinned. It had been difficult. Changing her glamour's for every shop she went into. And yeah, she had ventured into Knockturn as well. That had been an adventure, mostly just for the looks people had given her.
She had also noticed Remus hanging about in Hogsmeade again.
Great. Who'd given him the tip?

When the message returned, Regulus was working with his father on a ritual preparation. Blood, guts, and other such laid out on a conjured table. Preparations for this particular artifact's required needs was lengthy and messy so doing it in advance was necessary. When Kretcher appeared with the message under his father's eyes, he had told him to keep it safe and he would ask for it later. That solved that and they continued with the work. It was after scrubbing down in the shower later (and doing the blood out from under his nails with his wand) that he remembered it.
Frowning, he wondered if someone had intercepted this how would they have read it. It could be taken a little differently then the information about the family, but the book had been mentioned. Seeing it as safe enough he nodded. It set up their next meeting, though she had no idea he would be doing something else for her that night. With satisfaction, something he was coming to expect with her, he turned to making sure the lotion would be done on time and given enough time to settle. Settling after any creation was important to him, though this first time would be just a sample for testing.
