Originally a muggle design, the chef Salazar partnered (unknowingly) with a half-blood with a flair for advertising. making some magical edits to the place and separating the two main spaces (with a number of memory charms too) created a stealthy food site with real character. Though it's the muggle clientele which make the most money, the double design has been the site of some expensive dinners privately held on the wizarding side which have drawn in the magic side of things. With a pureblood the 'figurehead' in name, the restaurant is often packed with a number of groups interested in it.
With an art deco style, the restaurant has become a French/Arabic cuisine favorite, a number of English dishes being remade for more modern fare. Not a place for shepherd's pie, Tabouleh, Confit de Canard, Batata Harra (hot potatoes), and many types of Soufflé are well known and popular dishes now for those wanting something different and fancy. The door is tucked in beside a High Class Spa and not easily found by most passerby. With no sign and just an artful door, random passerby are not common. A place you have to know to venture into, indeed!
On the muggle side is a bar with a few tables (small but usually crowded) centered around a high tech fiber optic Japanese maple design which subtly out of the corner of the eye goes through a random spectrum, changing where one can't quite tell it's happening. Over an half an hour from one primary to another, this keeps the place very slick-styled. While food can be ordered at tables, take out is available at the front for those not patient enough for the tables which are often full from early lunch till midnight. This is primary a high class bar with a rapidly changing clientele.
A narrowly hidden door in the entrance (charmed to be anti-muggle) allows access to the secondary part of the restaurant about ten steps down and a turn UNDER the bar above which is well insulated for sound with an illusionary wall designed and executed by a team of wizards and witches. Exclusive, only wizards and witches can get through the door, though anyone not dressed up will be refused at the door as it will simply not allow one to pass inside. The food is setting is very formal and exclusive making the best use of the wide range of place settings found in the more snobby places.
Behind the scenes: NOT owned by a person, but managed by a half-blood behind the scenes. MEMBERS have to be pure or be from one of the 28 families. The monthly membership fee keeps the magic side revenue neutral with the regular costs paying for staff and supplies. The muggle income makes the big profit. Only Members may rent the space for special events or dinners, though anyone can eat or get pick up from the bar side regardless of background.
