Regulus didn't look nervous, he looked well dressed. With a long cloak on he made his way down to Hogsmeade for the weekend among a group of students, peeling off from them as they got out the gate leading to Hogwarts and taking a side street away from the main road. At a particular garden gate he turned not seeing anyone in sight, swiftly stepped through and into a small well tucked away private garden. A man waited him as Regulus swiftly removed the cloak folding it and setting it on the bench before saying "All right, I'm ready."
A touch on his shoulder and they were in a very different alley, the man checking for it to be clear then motioned the boy to head out. Regulus (Well dressed under the temporary glamour he had cast for the muggles) moved through the regular London afternoon crowd to the door a few shops down followed by the man who didn't come inside. This was not his first time by far at Salazar's though it was his first time by himself. He moved past the line at the counter for take out to the small concealed door and stepped through after a glance around, the glamour falling away.
A man in a full suit, glanced over his outfit with an approving eye as Regulus said "I am here at the request of my uncle, Mr Lucicus Malfoy." "Certainly, right this way Mr...?" "Black, Regulus Black." A check of his list and the man led Regulus around the edge of the aquarium (beautiful in the afternoon light from a window) to a table where his uncle sat already, naturally. "Your guest has arrived, sir," as he left Regulus with a menu. "Greetings uncle, I hope the day sees you well?" Regulus added for the host's ears as the man moved away.
Sitting, he looked warily towards the man he was connected to by marriage. There was nothing simple about being asked to meet Lucius Malfoy, family or not, with their more secretive connections. His nerves on end, he waited for any hint before he glanced away.

[attr="class","box1"]Lucius Malfoy was a man of great standards – not just for others, but for himself as well. If he didn’t, he would bring shame upon his family and all those whom he served, including a very powerful Dark Lord. Failure wasn’t an option, in any situation. Which also meant looking the part of wealthy aristocrat, which he didn’t mind. The silks the house elves had made for him were only the finest one could find. It was as if he were encased in a cloud – nothing less for someone like him. Of course, he had called Regulus to meet with him on this Hogsmeade weekend. Given he was Narcissa’s nephew, and the only ‘good’ son of the final remaining Blacks, he would need to be treated as an equal – never greater. No one could be greater than him. But there was that little circle of people who were on equal footing – the Blacks were just as noble as the Malfoys when it came to blood purity. He was sure that Regulus was the same as his family – unlike the traitorous brother of his, a boy who didn’t deserve the name. Now, one may wonder why he wanted to meet with his nephew-in-law. Surely it was important for him to use this weekend to be with friends in Hogsmeade. To Lucius such luxuries were not meant to be for people like himself or Regulus. They had their duties, and this was one of them. Sacrifices that had to be made. He sat at the private table in Salazar, awaiting Regulus’s arrival, as he had set up a travel plan for Regulus to be able to even leave Hogsmeade. Of course, he also planned a way for him to get back. Regardless, he sat at the table, a glass of wine poured, but not yet touched (that would be disrespectful to touch it before the guest of honor arrived), waiting. A man in a suit entered the room and informed him of his nephew’s arrival and he smiled, standing for his arrival and gesturing to the chair across the table from him. “Indeed it does. Please, sit. We have much to discuss.” He could see the boy was on edge – which he should learn to control. People would easily see through any lie he told if he didn’t work harder at it. “How have your classes been treating you?” | Tag:@shava Words: 397 |

While family, Regulus knew enough about his uncle to know he had exacting standards and expected a certain level of proper manners. Unlike the majority of the Deatheaters (about half of whom he knew only by voice behind a mask or face briefly glimpsed), Lucius had standards and came across as sophisticatedly smooth. Known to be the most social of the crowd, he probably did more unofficial business for the Dark Lord then most of the group and kept his hands clean for that reason. In that, Regulus would prefer to be in a similar stance, but for the moment he had a very different role to play.
Not that he had gotten to choose; his parents still ran his life without his preferences.
Seeing his uncle-in-law smile made him feel better about this meeting for sure! "My classes are fine. I do a lot more side reports and extra stuff for the professors because I have grasped most of the current stuff already. I try to stay ahead and it shows." He shrugged as if to say it was nothing and glanced over the menu, seeing the drinks listed that were non-alcoholic. WHile he was legal age now in the wizarding world before his graduation, he had never really gone for much alcohol at this time. It just didn't have a good flavor to his taste buds. He met his uncle's eyes directly now.
"Cousin Bellatrix has given me several personal lessons over the last few summers to give me an edge. That's helped me out a lot I admit." As suspected, he realized that Malfoy had put his back to the wall something Bellatrix had warned him about, those small details to survival. A nod of satisfaction as if at his own words, but it was good to spot those clues in others. In a way it made him feel slightly more adult really. "And how is your lovely wife, my cousin? Please let her know I got the package this week and thank you both for the books."

[attr="class","box1"]He nodded shortly when he had said he was ahead in his classes. Considering Lucius’s own record at Hogwarts, he completely understood the necessity to stay ahead. After all, something could come along that takes longer than it would for others, and one didn’t want to fall behind of everyone else – it would make one look lesser than they are – one always needed to be a step ahead of everyone – a couple steps just in case steps become harder. Balance was important of course, as one couldn’t spend all night studying as one needed sleep. A safety net was something of great importance when it came to people like him – and his nephew-in-law.
“That is wonderful to hear. It is quite unfortunate you were not made head boy. Clearly, they have lost their touch. Perhaps, Professor Slughorn is getting too old for his position. I heard that Dumbledore was looking at hiring Severus Snape to take his position.” He had heard through the grapevine that something went on between the two – though he didn’t know what it was, given that it was strictly between Severus and Regulus. At least that was what he was told, given the two of them had been alright before, but now acting coldly to one another. He planned to get to the bottom of it. But not quite immediately. Such a thing would take a bit of prepping to do.
“Narcissa is doing quite well. She will appreciate hearing that you received the package just fine. She worries about you all the time, Regulus. If you ever need help, I am here for you. We are family now after all. No matter how… unsavory the task you need completing.”

The waitstaff returned to get their orders for drinks and Regulus, unsure there would be anything else, got a mixed fruit juice drink called "Vineyard Peach Nectar" for his drink. At the glance he waved a hand slightly. "I've not developed much fondness for the taste of alcohol yet, especially with food" knowing his uncle would be quite aware how old he was. He doubted there was much the man didn't really know if he was interested, but Regulus kept his extra studies under wraps to a large degree. He was, albeit unknown, probably more knowledgeable about magic theory then most of the Deatheaters except his Master.
Who wold be quite disturbed to know how far this Black had followed his Master's trail of education.
Ha yes, well Regulus wasn't as interested in attention as Malfoy was, even he had figured that out upon meeting his cousin's husband the first time! "My Master" he emphasized "likes the fact I am not drawing attention and specifically asked me to keep it that way. It suits my purposes anyway to stay out of the limelight. More people underestimate then they should." He smiled softly with a tuck of his head as if to say he wouldn't be up to his uncle's performances in school at any cost anyway. Although being in the slugclub did show he hadn't been entirely successful.
"I suspect Professor Slughorn 'collected'" he used his fingers to make quotation marks in the air "me for my family more, but I have top marks in his class soon after." However the news about Serverus was not pleasant and he frowned at the mention of the name, then let it pass. He had hoped to avoid his former friend in school till the end of the year but that was sounding unlikely. "I'm sure my Master will be pleased by the access to more students." And maybe a tad bit of worry far off; Voldemort might be pleased about that but it smacked of danger possibly to Regulus.
Double checking his information perhaps?
All that passed away at the mention of his cousin, his face turning quite positive about that! "She would, I've told her not to worry about me I am very capable, even" he stopped the word form passing his lips, but it hung in the air between them "'he' must believe that to take me in. But I guess all young men think they are very clever and capable. Please assure her I am doing well, she should not worry. And I appreciate that, sir, you are most kind to offer your help do not think me unappreciative." He certainly did, but he was wary about letting his youth get ahead of him hence why his warnings in his book were so careful.
