[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Remus narrowed his eyes at Willow again, as he began to cast a few spells to make a couple of portkeys for the innocents. While he did that, he snapped, his eyes glancing towards him, while facing the objects he was charming. “War isn’t just about dueling. And for your information, last year I was known as the best duelist in Hogwarts, but even I’m completely out of my element here. You should run off to the safety of the castle before you get killed, kid.” He muttered the spell and handed off a few items to the people in the store, sending them to the outskirts of Hogsmeade, and told them to run, go home. If this was their home, then go to a family’s place. If none of those work, then Diagon Alley. Anywhere away from here. He picked up a teapot, a shoe, and a plank of wood. He stood and handed them to Rose. “If you actually want to help, hand these to people who need them. Just need to say the incantation ‘Portare’ to activate it. It’ll send them out of the town, far enough away to not get hurt.” Most of the time, Portkeys were timed, or they would work as soon as touched, but Remus had been able to manipulate the spell so a new incantation would be needed to activate it. Far more useful in his opinion. Remus honestly didn’t trust her in a fight, but he knew she would want no innocents to be hurt – therefore this was the best way for her to help and not wonder if she would turn her wand on his comrades. “Maybe if you took your head out of your ass, kid, you’d understand what we’re doing here.” He flicked his wand to stun a death eater who had attempted to enter the back. At that time, he recognized some other order members out in the field. Good. At least they weren’t alone. He wondered if James or Lily or Sirius or Peter were out there. In a way, he didn’t want them here, but he knew they would want to be here. He didn’t doubt James and Sirius were fighting back to back defending each other. He quickly looked to Emmeline and smiled. Good ol’ muggle games. He gave her a quick nod, hooking his hands together and getting ready to vault her out. “Ready.”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Oh, he was being grabbed now. This was fine. Regardless, he kept himself angled and ready to fire if someone had come into his view. Now he was inside the shop, and luckily inside wasn’t quite as dangerous, until there was a bit of an explosion sending brick flying. He quickly cast a protecting charm to shield himself from the debris, and then raised an eyebrow, staying calm, despite the circumstances. “Are you complaining about me showing up quickly?” Of course she was shouting, and he had raised his voice so she could hear him over the hubbub as Emmeline dashed through to the other door away from the explosion area. With a whirl of his wand, he quickly cast a spell that would reinforce the walls of the shop and the counter behind which one would take money. “Everyone get behind the counter and stay there until this is over.” After all, it was their jobs not only to fight the Death Eaters but protect the innocent as well, which made their jobs a bit harder. However, it was at that time when Rose approached him from the back in the shadows, despite his spell casting to create a more secure location for the customers of the shop, and he nearly froze for a moment, a spell crashing through a window, missing Remus, but the glass had got him, causing a cut along his front. He winced, casting a healing spell as he pulled Rose around the counter with the others, squatting down and quickly talking to her. “Stay here. It’s not safe around here. They’ll be here in a second. Not like everyone can just drop what they’re doing and come to a fight.” He glanced at Emmeline in the doorway, some of the customers not heading his orders. “Someone needs to stay here and make sure these people are alright. Just stay out of it and away from the trouble. Please.” Of course, it just had to be that moment when Willow had run into the shop and Remus looked up to see Emmeline jumping back from the melting stone that had dropped right in front of her. He wasn’t going to say anything and stand up to get back to helping Emmeline out with the fight, but the Willow raised his wand at his sister and Remus immediately stepped between them. “That’s my sister you’re talking to. If you trust me, then you trust her. Our enemy is out there, not here. So, leave her be.” His voice had come out in a growl before looking to Emmeline, feeling bad for essentially letting her fight this alone. “We’ll talk about appropriate actions after this. You started this, and we’re going to finish it. You should stay back too.” He was just a kid after all.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Remus was just sitting down to his afternoon tea when suddenly Dumbledore’s patronus burst through his window and Remus sighed. He just wanted tea. Turns out Emmeline had sent word of a fight breaking out in Hogsmeade. Luckily for them they had a very fast way of communication that the Death Eaters didn’t have – since many of them couldn’t produce a patronus. With a crack he apparated off to Hogsmeade, wand at the ready. As soon as he appeared in the village, a safe place he supposed, it being a little bit outside of the village as to avoid not apparating into someone, or right into the path of a spell, he took note of the situation. There was a young boy who seemed to be in a bit of trouble, a mousy haired boy seemingly running away from the scene – a muggle born if Remus remembered his Hogwarts students correctly, and several Death Eaters beginning their descent on the village. All the details he had been given were that the Order was being called upon to try to end this fight, seeing as it was so close to Hogwarts they had to win it, else it would be a huge blow to the war effort. Spotting Emmeline not too far from his position, Remus took up a place around the corner of one of the shops. There was a masked death eater not too far from Emmeline, and he could tell she was getting attacked by what he could see as three death eaters at once. Sending a quick stunning spell, which zoomed past her ear and hit the death eater, Remus quickly took cover around the corner of the shop. Quickly, Remus ducked out, staying low and sending off a few curses as he ran towards her position. “A right mess this is. Have the others arrived?” Remus asked quickly before looking up and around, sending off a Full Body-Bind curse at one of the nearest Death Eaters, seeing a few others starting to join the party. Boy, this was going to be so much… work. He was sure James and the others were not far behind. “How did this start?”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? This was something they were going to disagree on. He was sure he would never change her mind, but he couldn’t help but think that there was something she wasn’t thinking of – then again, how dare he judge her? She could know plenty he didn’t know. Just because in one instance it turned out well… didn’t mean that it would always be that way. In fact, the benefits he could see were very, very minimal. He shook his head and sighed, he was trying not to be so judgmental. When one was friends with the types of people that he was friends with that was difficult. Slytherin? Evil. Hufflepuff? Dumb. Ravenclaw? Lame. Of course, he did his best not to follow that sort of thinking, but it was hard when it was everything you heard. Perhaps that was why so many of these pureblood families had death eaters in them – because they grew up hearing all that stuff, and even if they might not believe it, its hard to think any other way. “In my, oh so humble opinion, and I hope you don’t mind me expressing it here, I think that is highly irresponsible. Personally, I would never do such a thing, but it is your choice – and it was their choice as well. However, there are plenty of ways you could have helped her realize that wasn’t the life for her. What about the people you slept with that could have killed themselves over the fact that they slept with someone? Or the ones who fell into bad habits. Yes, its their choices but… morally, at least for me, I would consider the benefits to be far less than the dangers of such a thing. Especially in these times where anyone walking down the street could be a… killer and kill you. Or where parents run rampant and are allowed to abuse their children because they are in pureblood families. I have a friend who, if he were still at his house, I’m sure he would have been murdered by his own mother for anything remotely like that.”He closed his eyes and leaned back. “I do understand everyone has different perspectives, and right now, the two of us will likely not budge on this subject of what is ‘right’ for us. I hope you know I do not think less of you because of your view not meshing with my own. To me monogamy is a way of showing loyalty. One should never lie and say they don’t desire another – it is human nature to be able to admire another. But it is also a virtue to be able to resist one’s urges depending on which ones. If it weren’t for things we’ve invented and come up with… sleeping around would be highly dangerous, could end up with too many children in the world, diseases running rampant… Even now we cannot protect from everything. Nothing is a hundred percent preventable in this world.” And boy that one struck home for him. Him with a disease who knew could spread if there was a child created between him and another. Who knew if such actions would… change someone forever? Mark them forever as cursed. No, he would never wish his curse upon another. And he wouldn’t risk giving his curse to another. Never ever. No one should ever have to go through what he did. “I do hope you enjoy yourself. I’m actually fairly easy to find. You can give credit to my friends for that.” He chuckles and stands up. “I appreciate your treating of me tonight. I will have to repay you sometime. It was a good chat.”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? He mulled over her words for a moment and then sighed. “Maybe one day. Maybe one day this war will end and everyone will happy. Maybe one day I can finally relax and… be happy. Maybe one day I’ll get married and have children. But all of those things have such a slim chance…”He shook his head, leaning his forehead against hers, his breaths slow and steady. “Perhaps we should get some sleep. It would be a shame if tomorrow, our final day before the later meet, we slept all day long.”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? He sighed and shook his head, shivering a bit as her hand threaded through his hair. “I was the one who went wrong. I should’ve… well there was so much I should’ve done. Family is family isn’t it? Should’ve put it higher than friends.” How did she know so much about how it was? Had she been watching? Why hadn’t he ever saw her before? He bet when he got his smell back, he’d recognize her better. God, he felt so useless without his sense of smell. So, lost. Even more lost than usual. He puffed up his cheek before he smiled a bit, though his eyes were still watering a bit. Then her finger went along his scars despite the darkness, somehow knowing where they were. He let out a shaky breath, as they were a bit more sensitive than other areas, indents of injuries within his skin. “I suppose we were both kids. Both did… things we shouldn’t have. We never really had a good family role model.”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? “Ah, well, we’re in the middle of a war, I’m sure you’ve heard.” Remus smiled a bit. Ah, it’d be nice to live in a peaceful world – maybe then he could work on the whole werewolves being accepted thing. But with them on Voldemort’s side made it even harder than it would be before. Hell, he couldn’t keep a job – he was depending on his friends right now. He felt so useless unable to help himself, even in such a time. “Actually, I’ve used that spell a little bit more than you might think.” And instantly he thought of if he really needed a cup and he couldn’t summon one and Peter was there… Oh god that was a weird thought. “Oh yeah, problems, trouble, whatever you want to call it.” He chuckled looking to the side as he remembered several things from when he was there with his friends. A few of his favorite pranks. Turning Snape’s hair green. There was that one time they put itching powder in Severus’s underpants. That one took a lot of doing to get into the Slytherin Common Room. “Oh yeah, it’s the best way to teach in my opinion. If I were ever a professor here at Hogwarts, I’d first teach the material, then I’d have them practice quite often instead of writing essays all the time and doing homework they’ll just half-ass and forget…” Not that he could ever be one anyways. Dumbledore knew after all. Couldn’t risk that as a professor, it was enough to have him be a student for seven years. “That’s exactly the way. Sometimes I don’t act in time if I’m not sure about something. Which is half the time when they liked to cause trouble.” He chuckled and shook his head. “Sometimes I wanted to step in and stop them, but I didn’t do a thing.” He rubbed the back of his neck and then smiled again. “Even still, mock battles using architecture sounds like a lot of fun.”Nodding Remus took in a breath and then sighed. “Honestly, delicious. But it can be a bit heavy. Madame Rosemerta makes all the food herself, well, herself and magic. Her own recipes. She does very well I think considering how popular it is and thus how busy she can be.”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? He closed his eyes, blinking the tears away feeling her wrap around him. He sniffed and rubbed his nose a bit. He couldn’t stop himself from snuggling up a little bit, turning around to face, her though not removing her arms around him. While it was dark due to being under the blanket, he just looked at her, the tears still present. “I don’t want to push you away. I don’t.” But want and what he did were two very different things. He wanted to be loved. And here was a pretty girl saying she loved him, despite not knowing about his condition, having just met him. She didn’t deserve him, to be tied down by such a terrible person like him. He pressed a quick kiss to her nose and his eyes just lowered towards their feet. “You barely know me. How can you… say such things? I’m not a good person, I – I pushed my own sister away in favor of friends because I was too cowardly to stand up to them. I just let my friends – I don’t know what to do, Lily. I feel so lost.”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Completely definitely! I would love to see the two of them interact - I know with a previous Molly who never got to post, we had planned a thing where Remus needed a place to stay the night and Molly and him were gonna essentially talk about life, girls/how it feels to be in love. I definitely would love to see them hang out sometime!

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? It was much easier said than done. No matter what she said, it still rang in his head, his protestations. However, he knew he was wasting his breath by continuing to protest. However, her words did continue to ring in his head. He’d argued this before, and so the same words were starting to stick in his head, even if the protests were screaming over it. Maybe one day he would believe he was worth something. “Now,” Remus began evenly, trying not to offend her with his tone, as he knew he could say things people didn’t like – especially if he vehemently disagreed with them. “That isn’t right. To be just fine with someone regretting what they did with you. It’s selfish, to think of your own happiness versus their entire life thinking back with sour memories. Sure, some will think back fondly after the initial regret, but – it can really hurt someone. Regret. It eats away at you and you think ‘if only I had said no’.” It seems she hit a sensitive spot here. Perhaps it was because he was eaten up by regret. Remus pursed his lips and looked off to the side. “I don’t know. Maybe.” What was he saying? He was a werewolf! He didn’t deserve this, and yet he couldn’t seem to make himself say no to her. Maybe it was the insistence, maybe it was the fact he was lonely despite having his best friends around him somewhat often. “That depends on your definition of winning. I just can’t… see myself going home with a girl I just met like that.” He shakes his head. “I think not only the girl would regret it, but I would as well. It’d feel like I was using her.”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Well that would have been nice to have learned at Hogwarts. They had been primarily focused on things like transfiguration and the like, instead of household skills. Who needed to know how to ride a broom, when one couldn’t even sew up their own clothes? Molly Weasley was particularly good at those sorts of things. He needed to ask her how to do those sorts of things. They sure would come in handy given his situation. “Well, I’m a good duelist?” That was probably the closest to a skill he had to something useful like Toma was talking. “Hogwarts didn’t really teach skills like that. I can turn a rat into a cup though, so there’s that.” He added that with a low chuckle. At least he thought it was funny. Honestly, he did think their education was good, they learned what was needed to learn other spells instead of just specific spells for certain things. However, in the face of someone who knew how to do these sorts of things and him, fresh out of Hogwarts not knowing much of it, he felt it was quite funny. “Well I don’t blame him for wanting to be up high. When one is small like he is, compared to the giants that are humans, its nice to see things on an equal playing field.” He smiled slightly looking to Storm, a tiny glint in his eyes. Even still, cats were a big no no for him. But this cat, kneazle really, seemed nice, and honestly a bit cute. “Humans are… very interesting creatures, yes.” He smiled thinking for a moment about all the different types of people he had met – and then remembered a lot of them would call him a half-breed, not even human, despite being human every day except one night in a month when the moon was full. Even still, there were affects that he felt, though one could think they were just normal if he hadn’t met others who didn’t seem to have the taste for rare meat or a great sense of smell. “Well the majority of Europe hasn’t met my friends. I’ve heard, uh, much worse from them. Though I will… admit that we British tend to be more prudish than others as a whole.” Remus grinned and shook his head, trying to banish the memories of some of the worse things he and his friends had gotten into and talked about from time to time. “Oh yes, I’m… more of a night person anyways. I sleep more during the morning hours. People call me a ‘night owl’ from time to time. I just find myself the most awake at night oddly enough.” He took a sip of his drink and then nodded slowly. “I can completely understand the connection to the wild.” No matter how much I’ve tried to sever that feeling from myself. “Some don’t feel it, but buildings almost feel like a cage, a trap for the wild beast known as human. Keeps us from adventure and nature, sometimes learning by experience as you said, is the best way to learn. One cannot be the best duelist by just reading a book, they need to practice and duel against others.” He chuckled and shook his head. “Well there’s arguments for me being both. I’d like to say I’m more intelligent than stiff, but I do… worry a lot. Makes it hard to act sometimes. Makes me watch what I say and do a lot more than most people do, I think. I suppose that’s the reasoning for calling me stiff too.”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Any response had been caught up in his throat. She had said those three little words so soon to a beast like him? This whole time he had made a fool of himself. Yet here she was right in front of him saying she loved him. He couldn’t help but swallow thickly, his mouth and throat both quite dry. He stared at her for a few moments before he quickly shook his head and looked away. He quickly stood up, his steak now finished at the very least and walked over to the bed, facing away from her, and slowly getting under the covers. He did so in order to hide his face, which was a mix of fright, anxiety, jubilation, and surprise. Placing his hands over the back of his head he took several moments, completely ignoring anything ‘Lily’ did while he attempted to think. Except the thoughts were refusing to come, his mind simply void of anything except for those feelings that had mixed on his face. He buried his face in the pillow below him, his voice finally coming out, albeit muffled by the pillow below him. “No you don’t. You don’t know me, Lily. I’m… a terrible person. No one could love me.” The words had come out hollow, devoid of emotion, as if he were just on autopilot, trying to hold back any negative feelings but also pushing back any positive feelings while he was at it. “I appreciate you trying, but… whatever you feel right now can’t be love. Infatuation, perhaps. But… love… is impossible. My own family could never love me.”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Not that she knew he had a very specific reason for it… but he nodded. Honestly, he really liked her attitude about being normal. She checked every box he wanted in someone. He hadn’t met someone like that before. Every single box. Sirius had checked quite a few, but he knew he had no chance with him. But this girl, he kissed her, and she didn’t run away. He had a rare steak, and she didn’t care, in fact she wanted to have the same! It was like someone came along and created the perfect woman for him. “Let’s be odd, Lily. I think we’ll have a lot of fun with it.” She would help him open up a bit more when he wasn’t with the boys. She would help him just be him, weird and all, and she didn’t find it weird or gross. That was something that really struck him. She wanted to stick out, be odd, and she didn’t judge him for his oddities.

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Far better with his hands? Oh dear lord. Quiet down you dirty mind. It wasn’t quite… uncomfortable – more like he was angry at himself for… finding these things amusing and slightly a turn on. Now he had come to terms with the fact he liked both men and women, so it wasn’t the fact that Toma here was a guy. No, it was because he just met him. And of course that Toma would hate him if he ever found out what he was and think that he was a… gross… thing. “There’s a lot one can do with their hands.” His face turned a bit redder when he said that. He wanted to slap himself for that. “More handsome than some of the felines I’ve met. Did you know there’s this squib who collects kneazles? Sure, some are cute I suppose, but gods, I could not spend more than a minute in her house.” Oh man, and there he was talking about crossbreeding. Well, he wasn’t opposed to discussing such things – while others might. He actually found it very interesting and intrigued him how much everything was related in some way. “All those poor housecats who have a tiger fetish…” He chuckled. “Well, I do think given similarities between humans and some of the other sentient beings in this world, there had to be some sort of common ancestor likely. I doubt… a human could mate with a horse and create a centaur.” That would raise a lot of connotations – Remus believed that all of the sentient beings were related through some sort of ancestor, and they evolved differently over time. Merpeople and centaurs weren’t quite as wide spread as humans, but that would just mean they weren’t quite… rabbit like when it came to mating. Or they didn’t adapt as well, but Remus doubted that. “Oh now, I do know a man who loves his goats a little too much…” He chuckled and shook his head. “I also have a friend who likely would wish to be a chicken if that were true.” “I’m not – stuffy!” He was slightly offended by that. Hell, he stuck around James and Sirius – they were worse than any French person he had ever met. He was just a bit more… conservative. “A-Anyways, I could probably set something up with Madam Rosemerta, for the night. While I search up a good spot for you to camp.” He raises an eyebrow. “I have never heard of a bed like that, I think… it would be interesting to see. I don’t mean this in a… weird way… but would you show me your bed sometime?”Remus chuckled. He could definitely understand wanting to learn instead of actually be thrown into a situation. It made things much better not to be utterly terrified and running for your life – much easier to focus in a classroom. “Ah, I was… and am a bit different. While I love to learn and read about everything, it is nice to be able to practice and use the skills. Makes it feel useful – makes me feel useful.”Remus coughed a bit nervously and held up his hands. “No, no offense. My, uh, friends are much worse. I’m used to them, I just… wasn’t expecting it… from you. We uh, barely know each other.”

[googlefont="Playfair Display"][googlefont="Alice"] Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful? Remus shook his head. “You were lucky to have your uncle. The only other family I have is my sister, and she doesn’t want anything to do with me.” He sighed and looked down at the table tapping it lightly. “I don’t think I could ever be happy with myself. I don’t matter. How would I ever be happy with someone who doesn’t matter? Someone who is an idiot. Someone who is dangerous and hurts those around him. Someone… who doesn’t deserve to be alive.” Boy. He was really getting onto the ‘repeating your father’s words’ train with that. But it was honestly one of his worst flaws – the fact that he really did not think of himself as anything good. Even with all the good and happiness he might bring his friends. Remus coughed and looked to the side. “Ah ha… well, I mean, I don’t mind… casual things, I just… I don’t want to curse myself onto someone. I don’t want to be someone’s regret.” That was honestly his biggest fear when it came to being with anyone. He didn’t want someone to look back and regret being with him – even when they found out what he was. That meant he really couldn’t be with anyone – who wouldn’t regret being with a werewolf?
