Caitlyn smiled at his parting remarks. The boy was sweet. That was the reoccurring theme with him. Caitlyn headed into the Auror section to put out an "out to lunch sign" and tease her fellows while informing them she was going to be out for a while. Then she headed to her usual place.
She ordered for him and got herself a cup of coffee and a plate full of fries. She was wearing sunglasses, a bohemian looking dress and a big floppy hat. Her trademark smile slowly spread across her face as she saw Sala approach. She handed him his cup as he chattered. He was saying some interesting things.
"Chai tea. Or Masala Chai to be accurate. Might be a little cool at this point. Sorry. Wasn't sure when you were going to arrive. What were you saying? About the...thing you were sent to alter?" Caitlyn asked curiously. A dangerous artifact? What could this mean? Was this some sort of...weapon? She simply must know. But she kept her excitement under control. Didn't want to look too eager.

Caitlyn giggled. The energy of this kid could be quite infectious. But it didn't last when he began to talk about the artifact.
"Oh really...a disruption of communication. And this was a Ministry project?" Caitlyn asked. She knew the Ministry wasn't always on the up and up, but this seemed...strangely unpragmatic to them. What would they gain from seeking a communication breakdown. Unless they were terrified about coordination between Dark Wizard groups globally.
"How exactly did you alter it?" Caitlyn asked, it was possible the ministry was trying to use this to effect communication between cells of Death Eaters. That would be an intelligent move as an opening salvo. Caitlyn though felt...funny about this whole thing. Was that all this was to it? Using a dark artifact for this purpose seemed...a bit much. Even for them.

"Yes of course. You've done well for yourself. And at a young age too. Unless you're older then you look."Caitlyn said keeping up a friendly demeanor.
"Huh. Dark wizards have a marked tendency to desire conflict. Especially between more rational groups of people. Provoking a war between your enemies is a smart way to weaken both. Glad we were able to stop this." Caitlyn said. She tried not to frown. She hadn't been told any of this. Like any institution or group, the Ministry had factions. And this was...the other sides project most likely.
"Of course, that all makes sense. Perhaps I should have been a bit more clear. What alterations are you going to make on it?" Caitlyn said. The dear boy wasn't the quickest on the uptake. It seems he misunderstood her intentions in asking that question. Though she probably could have spelled it out a little clearer.

"I understand completely. I never wanted an ordinary life either. I wanted something that could get my adrenaline pumping. Something where I could help out other people and explore. Something that was a challenge, but utilized the skills I was suited for." Caitlyn said.
"I fear that many have had their start at my own Hogwarts. Especially in my own house of Slytherin, which has an unfortunate tendency to attract blood purists. There's been many great Slytherin's who didn't go dark, Merlin for one. But part of why I fight dark wizards is to redeem a bit my old houses and my families past." Caitlyn said, taking a sip from her cup of coffee.
"I see. That makes sense. The more complex a working the harder it is to pull off. But is your intent to neutralize it? Or to work it towards a different purpose." Caitlyn said. Enchantment had never been her particular specialty, but she dealt often enough with enchantments during her work to know that the more straightforward an enchanted objects purpose the better it tended to work.
Caitlyn was curious as to what the Dark Wizards had been intending to use it for. A war was brewing after all, and information was power.
